Mary Anne Meyer has thirty-one years of business and education experience in the Valley. She has excellent references, drive, management capabilities and community contacts.
As a Broker Associate at Mason & Morse, Mary Anne has been awarded for exceptional sales volume. She is Past President of the Aspen Board of Realtors, and continues to serve the current Board.
During the early 1990's, her career was in the ski industry where she served as official organizer of the World Cup competitions in Aspen. She was also Executive Director of the Aspen Winter Club and served through its merger with the historic Aspen Ski Club. Today it is the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club.
Mary Anne has also had an extensive career as a teacher. She taught classes at both Glenwood Springs High School and Aspen Middle School, where her focus was Literature, both classic and contemporary, Language Arts and Outdoor Education.
With her Masters Degree in Southwest Studies from The Colorado College, she organized and implemented archaeological expeditions and Native American student exchanges.
As an educator, the state board of education named her Colorado Exemplary Teacher. She is a past Board of Directors member of the Aspen Education Foundation and of the neighboring Basalt Education Foundation, where she co-chaired Major Colin Powells Americas Promise satellite seminar.
She was also a white-water river guide in the 70s. She guided trips on rivers that included the Roaring Fork, Arkansas, Colorado, and Salmon.
Mary Anne currently serves as a Board of Trustees member for the Aspen Historical Society. She is also a founding member of Realtors for Wilderness and is a volunteer ranger with the Forest Conservancy. She is also a mentor with The Buddy Program.
She enjoys life in Aspen, where she shares biking, backpacking, hiking and skiing with her snowboarding, twenty-one year-old son, Olvin, who is a 2005 graduate of Aspen High School and who is a Hotel and Restaurant Services major at Johnson & Wales University.
