I was born and raised in Colorado and I remember my grandmother recounting riding the stagecoach to Rifle around the turn of the last century. My wife, Jan, and I moved to Aspen in 1983 and began a wonderful adventure in the Roaring Fork Valley. We came for the skiing and for the beautiful mountains, but we found there is much more to it than that. The valley is a wonderful place to raise children and our two, Christopher and Jessica thrived here. The best thing about the Roaring Fork Valley, though, is the people.

Jan and I have lived in Aspen, Glenwood Springs and on a ranch near Silt. That has given us opportunity to enjoy almost all of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. We count ourselves as semi-avid skiers, cross country skiers, fishermen, hikers, mountain bikers, snowmobilers, and horseback riders. We are also very active at Church at Carbondale, where I serve on the Elder Board.

Jan and I both started out as teachers. Scarcely a day goes by that I don’t run in to one of my former students. I like that very much. As much as I enjoyed teaching, I soon realized that I enjoy working with real estate even more. I became a general contractor, a real estate investor and finally a real estate broker. Being a broker is, by far, my favorite. As an investor I could only do a deal or two each year. Now I am involved with many transactions and many different people. Perhaps being a broker lets me be a teacher at the same time. I just seem to enjoy educating people about Colorado real estate.

During our years Jan and I have lived several places in the valley. That experience has proved helpful. There aren’t many real estate related obstacles that I haven’t experienced along the way. There are so many issues involved in buying Colorado real estate from irrigation water to special taxing districts to hydro-compactive soils. Finding that special property usually involves one obstacle or another and it is important to have someone on your side that knows the ropes. Please let me show you why I love Colorado so much. Please let me help you find your own piece of Colorado.
