Feb 2012 Aspen Snowmass Sales: Weaker Aspen specific property sales in Feb. 2012 versus strong sales in Jan 2012...In spite of building positive US economy news with Wall Street indexes hitting prerecession highs, manufacturing on the rise and a growing sense consumer confidence that the recovery this time has legs, there was a dramatic fall off sales activity in Feb. 2012 - in Aspen specifically - compared to the prior month, Jan. 2012, and the prior year, Feb. 2011.

"Coldwell Banker Mason Morse Aspen real estate broker Tim Estin, who publishes a quarterly analysis of upper valley real estate sales, reported in his 2011 year-end report [The Estin Report] that the Aspen and Snowmass real estate market was up 15 percent in dollars and 25 percent in unit sales over 2010. (Estins analyses also include Woody Creek and Old Snowmass, but exclude fractional sales and all transactions under $250,000.)"..."The prevailing attitude is that 2012 is a significant turnaround year and if you dont get in now you have missed out on some sort of bottom, he added.
