John Wendt III

John is the Employing Broker and Managing Broker of Coldwell Banker Mason Morse. He personally manages the Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, and Redstone offices. A Colorado native, and raised in Woody Creek of the Roaring Fork Valley, John has practiced Real Estate since 1980. He has incredible experience and knowledge of all types of properties and has served a wide interest of clients in acquisitions and sales.

John is the Employing Broker and Managing Broker of Coldwell Banker Mason Morse. He personally manages the Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, and Redstone offices. A Colorado native, and raised in Woody Creek of the Roaring Fork Valley, John has practiced Real Estate since 1980. He has incredible experience and knowledge of all types of properties and has served a wide interest of clients in acquisitions and sales.

John is highly regarded throughout the Colorado Real Estate industry on many different levels. In 1993, he served as President of the Colorado Association of Realtors, and in the same year, he co-authored legislation that defined Broker relationships and their duties in serving the public, which is still used today. John also established the Realtor Legal Hotline. He has testified as an expert witness in many cases, including for Colorado's Attorney General. Since becoming a senior instructor in 1987 He is still an avid and very popular Real Estate instructor teaching other Realtors contracts, agency, finance, construction, ethics, foreclosures, short sales,  risk reduction, pricing it right, and more, including the Real Estate Commissions annual update course. John has also served as president of two regional MLS's and helped in the formation of both. In May of 2018, Governor Hickenlooper appointed John to the Colorado Real Estate Commission for a three-year term.  He has been recognized and received many different awards throughout his entire career. In 2022, John was chosen as Realtor of the Year for Colorado.

Having practiced Real Estate since 1980, John is even more passionate about ensuring that the client's interests are being well served by well-trained brokers. His mission is always to try to be the best in service that is beyond expectation. John will listen, tell the truth, and expect more of himself than anyone ever will.

John is an avid tennis player and fan and enjoys time spent with his horses and dogs.
