Jack Pretti, a trusted name in Western Colorado ranch sales, brings over four decades of real estate expertise to his clients. Born in Rifle and raised on a working cattle ranch on Silt Mesa, Jack's deep roots in the western way of life are the foundation of his unmatched knowledge and no-nonsense approach to business. His experience and proven track record have made him a go-to expert for ranch buyers and sellers across the region.
Jack's career began with livestock marketing in the 1970s, and his passion for the agricultural industry led him to race horses for much of his early life. His involvement in the racing community culminated in an appointment by the Governor of Colorado to serve on the Colorado Racing Commission, where he later held the position of president in the early 2000s. Jack studied agricultural economics for four years at Colorado State University, further strengthening his expertise in rural property management.
With a specialty in working with cattle operations, Jack understands the intricacies of water law, agricultural production, and mineral rights across Colorado. He is a longtime member of the Holy Cross Cattlemen’s Association and currently serves on the Silt Water Conservancy District. In 2022, he was honored as the Land Broker of the Year by the Colorado Realtors Land Institute. Jack also completed two terms as President of the Glenwood Springs Association of Realtors, demonstrating his commitment to both his clients and the real estate profession.
Jack’s track record includes the successful sale of an 1,860-acre property with half a mile of Colorado River frontage, involving complex water rights, BLM and USFS grazing permits, and an ALTA survey that uncovered additional unrecorded acreage. Another notable transaction included a 1,000-acre agricultural and cattle grazing property with a gravel mining operation, requiring the transfer of a state mining permit. His proficiency in navigating complex sales sets him apart in the industry.
When he isn’t helping clients find their perfect ranch, Jack can be found at the rodeo or cheering on his favorite horses at the racetrack. His passion for Western heritage and his unwavering integrity make him the trusted choice for ranch sales in Western Colorado. His guiding principle remains: "A firm handshake and my word are my bond."
