Skiing and More for Ages 24
Start kids out with the Buttermilk Experience. As one of the best beginner ski mountains in the country, Buttermilk Mountain offers kids aged 21/2 to 4 group lessons in a supportive and engaging outdoor snow environment. Even if your child is not yet potty trained, they can learn to balance and handle themselves on skis through this program. Reservations required. Partial and full day programs are available.
Child care is available at Buttermilk for kids who arent eager to ski, or for younger childrennot quite ready to shred the slopes.
Warm your youngsters up to healthy socializing with other children at the Treehouse Kids Adventure Center. Children ages 24 will especially enjoy the Bear Den, where they can watch a puppet theatre, relax in a napping loft, and enjoy other age-appropriate activities under parentalsupervision.
All-Day Skiing for Ages 512
Full day ski lessons are available for kids aged 5 and 6 at Buttermilk and Snowmass Mountains. Reserve your childs spot and plan to arrive before 9:30 when the lesson begins.
Older (and braver!) kids aged 7-12 can get more advanced lessons at Buttermilk and Snowmass Mountains all day from 9:30 to 3 PM.Even if this is your childs first snow ski lesson, the instructors have a program for that. Kids are separated into groups from beginner to advanced within their age range, so no child is forced into doing more than theyre comfortable with, and more advanced skiers dont have to wait to be challenged.
Take a day off from the slopes to enhance your childs talent for creation at the Anderson Ranch Arts Centerin Snowmass Village.Activities include hands-on crafts like pottery, painting, building, and making.
Mountain Adventures for Teens
Pre-teens and teens between ages 13 and 17 can choose fromski and snowboard lessons designed to maximize theirmore developed muscles and motor skills. Offered at Snowmass exclusively, these all-day lessons run from 9:30 in the morning to 3:15 in the afternoon. Reservations needed.
When your teen feels the need to escape your watchful parental eye, you can drop them off at the Slopeside Lanes for bowling and pizza. With some pocket money and a cell phone, youll help them have one of those all-important independent social experiences with peers.
Off-Slope Actionfor Family Members Ages 6 and Up
